Oreo Strawberry Shortcake


  • 1 electric mixer
  • 2 9 inch round cake pans
  • 1 wire rack for cooling
  • 1 cake board (or serving plate)


  • 1 packet yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 16 Oreo cookies (crushed)
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 3 cups whipped topping (thawed)
  • fresh strawberries (for decorating the cake)


  • Preheat oven to 350F and grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans (round).
  • In a bowl, mix the cake mix, oil, water, and eggs. Use an electric mixer to combine the batter together on a low speed.
  • Beat with the mixer for around 2 further minutes once moist on a medium speed.
  • Fold in 1/2 cup of the chopped Oreo cookies.
  • Pour the batter mix into the prepared cake pans.
  • Bake for around 25-35 minutes.
  • A toothpick or knife in the center of the cake should come out clean when inserted into the middle.
  • Once baked, remove and place on a wire rack for around 10 minutes.
  • Remove the cake from the pans and leave to cool.
  • Fold 3/4 cup of Oreo cookies and sliced strawberries into a bowl with whipped cream.
  • Grab one of the cake layers and place it on a cake board or serving plate.
  • Spread the cream mixture onto the cake (use around half and spread evenly).
  • Put the remaining cake layer on top and spread the rest of the cream mixture onto the top of the cake.
  • Decorate your cake with fresh strawberries and any remaining Oreo cookies you have left.
  • Your cake is ready to serve!
