White Cake Recipe


  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 3/4 tsp baking powder


  • Preheat your oven to 350F. Grease and lightly flour a round cake pan (9 inches preferably)
  • In a bowl, mix together the butter and sugar. Add one egg at a time, ensuring that each egg is combined well before you add the next. Once all eggs are added, add the vanilla extract
  • In another bowl, combine the baking powder and flour. Grab the dry ingredients and add to the wet ingredients and mix well
  • Add milk and stir until the batter is smooth. Pour batter into your prepared cake pan
  • Bake for around 30-35 minutes. A toothpick or knife should come out clean when inserted into the middle of the cake
  • Allow to cool and your cake is ready to serve
